The Dyirribarra Bagirbarra are the Traditional Owners of the northeast sea boundary located in sea Country, a vast and diverse marine environment that has sustained our people for thousands of years.
Sea Country is a critical part of our culture and identity and is central to our connection to Country. We have a deep understanding and knowledge of the sea, its rhythms, and its inhabitants, and we have a responsibility to care for and protect it for future generations.
The purpose of this aspiration statement is to outline our long-term vision for our sea Country, and to identify the goals, objectives, strategies, and actions that will guide our efforts to achieve that vision. We recognise the demands and opportunities that exist in managing our sea Country in the face of increasing challenges from climate change, resource extraction, and other human impacts. By articulating our aspirations and working collaboratively with our partners, we believe we can achieve a sustainable and prosperous future for our marine environment and our people.

We also seek to protect and restore the natural resources of the sea Country, including its diverse ecosystems, wildlife, and habitats.
We envision a future where our sea country is managed in a way that supports the well-being and prosperity of our people and communities, while also maintaining the ecological integrity and resilience of the marine environment. We aim to work collaboratively with our partners to develop and implement innovative solutions that balance the needs of all stakeholders and ensure a sustainable and prosperous future for our sea country.
Ultimately, we aim to build a legacy of stewardship and care for our sea Country that will endure for generations to come.
